PORTLAND, OR — June 12, 2026 — Menlo Digital today announced the acquisition of Union Bank Tower, a 15-story, approximately 185,000-square-foot mixed-use data center, telecommunications, retail, and office building located at 707 SW Washington Street in downtown Portland, Oregon.
Designated MD-PDX2 within Menlo Digital’s portfolio, Union Bank Tower has long served as a hub for national telecommunications operators. The acquisition expands Menlo Digital’s downtown Portland digital infrastructure footprint and adds established carrier relationships that provide customers with greater connectivity choice, network diversity, and operational resilience.
Downtown Portland is an important regional connectivity market, serving enterprise, technology, network, and cloud customers across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. As demand for distributed compute, cloud connectivity, and resilient network access continues to grow, well-located urban data center assets with established carrier ecosystems are increasingly important to businesses requiring low-latency access and diverse connectivity options.
MD-PDX2 will form a metro-level digital infrastructure campus with Menlo Digital’s previously acquired MD-PDX1, a three-story, approximately 137,000-square-foot network-dense data center with ground-level retail located a few blocks away in Portland’s Pearl District within the Brewery Blocks. Together, MD-PDX1 and MD-PDX2 create a differentiated downtown Portland platform with complementary infrastructure, carrier diversity, and customer optionality. The combined footprint allows Menlo Digital to offer customers a broader range of deployment, interconnection, redundancy, and expansion options within close proximity in the downtown core.
“Union Bank Tower is a highly strategic addition to our Portland platform,” said Adam Janota, Senior Vice President (Interconnectivity and Colocation at Menlo Digital) “The asset brings established carrier infrastructure, meaningful downtown presence, and a complementary role alongside MD-PDX1. Together, these facilities give customers more options for network diversity, resiliency, and growth in one of the Pacific Northwest’s most important connectivity markets.”
Mr. Janota recently joined Menlo Digital after 17 years at Equinix, where he held senior roles in Americas business development and global vertical marketing focused on network, cloud, and digital infrastructure ecosystems.
The acquisition reflects Menlo Digital’s broader strategy of investing in mission-critical data center and connectivity assets in markets where infrastructure, power, and network access are increasingly central to enterprise and cloud demand. In Portland, Menlo Digital sees an opportunity to build on the existing foundation of downtown connectivity while supporting the continued growth of the region’s digital economy.
“Portland has a strong base of enterprise, network, cloud, and technology demand, and downtown remains an important location for resilient digital infrastructure,” said Michael Johnston, Partner (Chief Investment Officer at Menlo Digital). “With MD-PDX1 and MD-PDX2, Menlo Digital is assembling a platform that can support a broader range of customer needs while contributing to the strength and relevance of Portland’s downtown business ecosystem.”
Menlo Digital has been investing in data center infrastructure for more than 25 years. Today, the platform includes a substantial national portfolio and development pipeline across leading U.S. data center markets, reflecting Menlo Digital’s experience acquiring, developing, and operating mission-critical digital infrastructure assets.
